Didn't mean to sound argumentative but it sounded like you were asking a loaded question and might have already made a decision. I like my MXT with the 6x10 coil for trashy areas. I know from hunting with others who use Tesoro and Nautilus that the MXT probably won't get the same depth as those machines. I still do manage to make some excellent finds in those trashy areas when I take my time. The coil seems to make the difference for me. It seems to be able to get between the targets and gives separate signals for targets that are relatively close together.
Having seen the Naughty in action it is a tough machine to beat when looking for relics. Then again, like most machines, it is important to know your machine well. It would be nice if you could trade machines with a friend who has an MXT for a few hunts to get a feel for it. That way, the you could each help the other with a different machine and maybe get a better understanding of how the MXT works. Any clubs around where you might try that as an option?
