Howdy all...
So I left you on a hunt with my new friend Joe Clark and his buddy dredging for gold rings. We have just found a very nice diamond ring.
There were two different styles of dredging going on at this hunt. Joe's dredge was set up to move massive volumes of material. His buddy's dredge was a much smaller dredge that he was using with a metal detector. He would locate a target with the metal detector and then use the 3" dredge to recover the target.
Both systems seem to work well. I could see how each one might beat the other in certain areas. If the targets were withing range of a detector and wide spread....the smaller dredge locating individual targets could beat the large dredge. if the targets were numerous or deep then the dredge that moved large amounts of material would probably win out.
I spent the rest of the day watching each dredge perform. I saw both operators recover very nice rings and left late in the afternoon knowing that I would soon buy a dredge.
Much more to come. Don't miss a chapter in this exciting adventure. Stay tuned...I will move this along much faster.
