Jerry...
Without a doubt the Cibola is a great detector. It can pick through iron with the 5.75 coil without a problem. The depth capabilities are excellent. I would NEVER get rid of my Cibola. I can put it in the hands of anyone detecting for their first time and they will be detecting with the best right away. As far as handling bad ground I can move from the dry sand to wet sand on a salt water beach and the Cibola acts like nothing happened. There are very few detectors that can do that. I have only used mine in one site in Virginia where I was wishing I had a ground balance. The hunt was successful but I could tell that I would have gotten more depth if I could ground balance it. Other than that one hunt I have used it successfully across the South. I tell people all the time that the Cibola is a freaky detector. I don't understand how Tesoro got it to work the way it does. it just doesn't make sense sometimes how well it does. I got rid of my Tejon once I started using this Cibola. I know a few people that might not agree..
But for me....it is a great machine.
