Transparent swirl with a ribbon core 1/2 inch
1851 New Orleans mint three cent piece.
I found these beauties while hunting Saturday at one of my favorite sites 2 hours up the road. I would have gone sooner, but the field was so wet from rain that it took an entire week to dry out. I also found a few plain buttons, bucket shot, umbrella pieces and various brass pieces. One nice thing about searching a plowed field after a rain is eyeballing targets before you even dig them.
