Metal Detecting Online

From time to time I put on hunts for people that I know or even the newcomers to our Detector Shop here in Michigan. Here is one hunt last spring that netted us some nice items. It was an old farm site that had nothing but foundations left on it. I checked out who the owners were and they said go for it. As our club members are required to seek an ok before they hunt on private property. This is in our code of ethics for the club. There were only three of us that day hunting this spot with alot of success other than money. We also found alot of old relics that were during the underground railroad era and were donated to a local historical center for the Underground Railroad in our area. We started in the early morning less than a week after I found this site. We went back to the foundations for most of the morning and into early afternoon. We sere getting thirsty so we took a cookie break. Deb made some homemade chocolate chip cookies that were just awesome. After about a half hour break we decided to try and find the main road that went up to the house foundation. Deb was digging down quite a ways when she had a look of frustration on her face and was ready to just cover up the 12" hole she had dug. I asked what was up and she said that she can not find the object in the hole she had dug. I took a try and my Black Widow head phones by Detector Pro let out a load hit. I said sounds like silver to me. I pinpointed the object took a cut off the edge of the hole that was dug and flipped it on the ground. Out popped the 1899o Barber Half Dollar that Deb had found. She only missed it by an inch or two because it was standing on edge in the hole. That was Deb's first silver half dollar. That was just the starting of a wonderful day of detecting.
