Has anyone ever used a F75 for gold prospecting?

I'm getting my old gold prospecting gear together for a trip to Telladega National Forest in September. I used to use a Tejon with the small "football" coil off of another Tesoro with very good results. Just wondering if the F75 with the small coil would give similar or even better results. While some use the hugh "pizza pan" sized coils, I had better luck with the smaller ones because I could get it in and out of tight spots between rocks.
