Looking for Goldbug tips

I picked up a Goldbug.
Are there any users out there that can give me a few pointers on settings for detecting different items? (coins, rings, artifacts) not much in gold nuggets here in Minnesota.
Although I've talked with some of the folks in one prospecting club that do find flakes in different areas here(MN).
I've tried a few places with it, a local park, an old school.grounds, a beach..
I've found tons of bottle caps, screws, bolts, pieces of wire, and about 38 cents. Nothing really neat yet.
So if you've got some experience, and some time, I'd appreciate any help.
