It's pretty meager down here on the Gulf...

......went out a few nights ago and only found .62 cents (2 quarters, 2 nickles, and a badly decomposed penny)in the dry sand. However, my bottle cap and pull tab collection has grown considerably. I have never figured out why people bend the pull tab off of a can. Bored I guess. Anyhow, I did learn it's important to know when sunset is because the temperature does drop to a relatively comfortable level about two hours before.

My next act will be trying to figure out when the best times are to work the surf (with a CZ20). Unfortunately, the tide times do not mare with sunset too well. It seems like that "lull" time in between in-coming and out-going is the best, but the wind speed and direction can still make for a pounding surf. May take a lot of observation (and beer) to work this problem out.

Ah yes, beer, the magic elixir for determining tide timing
