I have one with a 10in. coil which Ive used mostly in saltwater, but, on occasion, I was quite pleased with it in freshwater too. Like any detector, tuning is will dictate performance. I've found that, the least input (i.e.: discrimination, centered ground balance) is usually the best. It's better to dig a lot of targets you don't want than to "overtune" and miss that one good one.
